The Faculty of Land and Food Systems at UBC leads in tackling today’s urgent global issues (climate change, food security, food production and farming, and animal and human health). UBC LFS sought to refresh their brand’s visual design system to better engage and recruit prospective students seeking to affect change.

The system of nature is inspired by the thriving interconnection between people, science and technology, and nature. By combining the skeletal structures of molecules and hexagonal geometry present in nature, we developed a flexible visual design system to illustrate the LFS ecosystem. When seen together, these elements show the strength and impact of the interconnected systems, but can be explored individually like a mighty bee who plays an important role in nature’s ecosystem.
